Villa to cost "£100million"

Valencia have warned Chelsea that negotiations for star striker David Villa would start at £100million. British newspapers have suggested that Spain striker Villa was top of Jose Mourinho's shopping list for the January transfer window.

But Valencia president Juan Soler insisted on Tuesday that his club were committed to keeping the 24-year-old.

"Officially we have not received any interest or an offer from Chelsea for Villa," Soler told PA Sport.

"I met (Valencia sporting director Amedeo) Carboni this morning and he didn't mention anything regarding any possible interest from Chelsea for our striker.

"We have no intention of selling him. But should any club be interested, they could sit down and negotiate his buy-out clause, which is currently worth 150million euros (£100million)."

Villa, who scored 25 La Liga goals last season and has five in 12 league starts this year, is under contract at the Mestalla until summer 2013.

Man United v Chelsea team news

Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho should have midfielder Michael Ballack (calf) and 14-goal striker Didier Drogba (ankle) fit for their Barclays Premiership showdown with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Both players collected knocks in the UEFA Champions League defeat by Werder Bremen in midweek but are expected to recover in time to be included in Mourinho's squad.

England midfielder Frank Lampard will return to the squad after missing the Bremen game through suspension and centre-half Ricardo Carvalho has recovered from an ankle problem - but striker Salomon Kalou is still sidelined with a medial ligament injury.

Alex Ferguson has no fresh injury worries ahead of the game.
Rio Ferdinand had been a doubt after picking up a minor foot injury in Tuesday's Champions League defeat at Celtic, but the Red Devils' record signing has been passed fit and will take his place in what could be an unchanged line-up.
The only alteration to the side that started at Parkhead could see the introduction of Patrice Evra for Gabriel Heinze.

Provisional Chelsea squad
: Cudicini, Hilario, Ferreira, Geremi, Terry, Carvalho, Boulahrouz, Bridge, A Cole, Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Makelele, Drogba, Robben, Shevchenko, Wright-Phillips, J Cole, Diarra, Mikel.

Manchester United team
: Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Neville, O'Shea, Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Silvestre, Heinze, Evra, Ronaldo, Fletcher, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Richardson, Rooney, Saha, Smith.

Blues Through Despite Defeat

The Blues qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League despite losing 1-0 to Werder Bremen in the Weserstadion.

Per Mertesacker headed the only goal of the game midway through the first half to set up a final game decider against Barcelona in two weeks' time.Jose Mourinho's side were not at their best against a team currently second in the Bundesliga and also suffered a blow when Didier Drogba limped out of the action just before the hour mark.

After the match Chelsea captain John Terry said: "We came here to win the game. If we'd come to lose we'd have sent the reserves. But we owe it to the fans.

"We put in a performance but without getting the result - but we're through.

"We wanted to come here and win and make sure and not depend on other results or goal differences.

"It's disappointing to concede goals like that but we must work on that for the future. I thought we soaked up a load of their pressure but it's still disappointing.

"It's disappointing to lose a game going into a big one (against Manchester United). It's the same for both of us now.

"We have lots of strong characters and we'll see how we bounce back on Sunday."

Great Freekick by Geremi

Win 1-0 over West Ham United last night proved The Blues still the team to win the title this season. Gap three points from Man United doesn't make the pressure over the Blues...

Thank you Cameroon midfielder, mr Geremi!

Lawak Bola

Apa strategiku??...

"Pandanganku mestilah jauh terkehadapan, barulah aku boleh digelar as the best manager of football in the world...Itulah yg perlu aku terjemahkan ke dalam corak dan gaya permainan The Blues..."

Sejak beliau mengambil alih pengurusan The Blues, sudah dua kali berturut-turut beliau berjaya meletakkan The Blues sbg juara Premiership di England...

Memang bola itu bulat...

Alkisah pasal bola ni, mmg ada org minat giler kat bola sepak ni.sbb tu lah ada iklan "tido bola, mkn bola..." gara-gara pasal bola ni, hidup kita boleh jadi tak betul kalau tak kena dgn caranya.bg aku, bola bola jugak, solat jgn lupa...hmm ramai yg lupa pasal solat kalu dah ingat n minat bolat ni..tgk time World Cup 2006 lah, kalu match lewat pagi, hmm sanggup bgn n tgk bola lg dari buat solat tahajjud 2 rakaat dulu...

Bagi aku, bolat tu dah bulat pun,tak payah la kita nak minat lbh2 sgt kat bola tu..biar berpada-pada lah...wpun aku minat the Blues, tapi aku ttp ingatkan diri aku yg bola itu mmg dah bulat...so, biarlah bola yg bulat, asalkan pendirian hati kita tetap n tak tergolek-golek mcm bola yg bulat tu...
